Job Description:
The hangar support assistant is a multi-tasked role to support all activities within the RAF Coningsby Maintenance hangar. We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging team member with experience in manual handling. This is a fast-paced, physically active role, requiring the ability to safely perform lifting and moving tasks.
Core duties:
- Towing of Aircraft ground equipment
- Urgent deliveries of Test Equipment/Ground Equipment and maintenance consumables including of Towing and Aircraft slot maintenance within TMF (Typhoon Maintenance Facility)
- Waste Disposal of hazardous Oils and Lubricants from the aircraft maintenance
- Operation and coordination of the support hangar storage, including transports
- Periodic washing of TyTAN aircraft, and coordinate/ upkeep of the wash facility
- Varied tasks in support of TyTAN maintenance activities
- Various physical tasks involving lifting, carrying and moving
Essential Skills:
- Full Clean Driving licence
The Hangar Support Team:
Join our Hangar Support Team, a dedicated group ensuring the smooth running of all activities within the RAF Coningsby Maintenance Hangar. The team provides essential support across driving, general hangar duties, and wash operations, enabling engineers to focus on their core maintenance tasks. Playing a vital role in supporting planned maintenance output, the team also encourages personal development and growth, offering opportunities to build skills and progress within a dynamic maintenance environment.
