Job Title: GCAP Software Factory Senior Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: £54,793 + depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a team for development of DevSecOps tools and applications as part of an integrated DevSecOps capability
  • Collaboration within the SW Enterprise for the integration and deployment of Software domain specific tools (such as Simulink, Rhapsody) within the containerised DevSecOps infrastructure
  • Trialling of DevSecOps with project development teams to optimise process and tools
  • Liaison with DevSecOps implementation teams across Air and BAE Systems to identify and utilise best practice and common approaches
  • Formal testing and qualification of the DevSecOps infrastructure to support DO-178C and DO-330 compliance
  • Delivery of DevSecOps capability to end-users within BAE Systems GCAP programme
  • Establishing the strategies in adopting and using processes, methodologies and technologies.
  • Conduct work in accordance with agile management approaches (e.g. roadmaps, plans, incremental development, sprint planning, DSUM and sprint reviews).
  • Co-ordination and reporting of work across the team and stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of DevSecOps infrastructure and tool architecture, integration, configuration and deployment
  • Experience of software development processes, methodologies and tools such as: Software Development Lifecycle processes, agile development methodologies, software methodologies or software development tools
  • Experience of leading a team of engineers for software development and delivery

Desirable Skills:

  • A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of formal software development processes such as DO178C.
  • Developing real-time or embedded applications

Join our team at GCAP Software Enterprise for an exciting opportunity as a Senior Software Engineer team leader. We’re part of a major national and international collaborative program critical to the future of UK defence, developing Processes, Tools, and Infrastructure to facilitate rapid software development and delivery across Airborne (Mission Systems, Vehicle Systems) and Ground Based (Training, Mission Planning, Engineering Support, etc.) systems.

n this role, you will lead a team focused on architecting, planning, and developing a cutting-edge Software Factory (DevSecOps) infrastructure. Your team’s mission is to enable large-scale federated and collaborative software development, integration testing, and delivery of Airborne and Ground Based software applications across international partner companies. Leveraging modern automated software development technologies, your team will ensure effective and efficient qualified software development at a rapid pace, supporting critical defense initiatives.
