Job Description

Job title: Export Control Compliance Manager

Location: Doha, Qatar

Salary: 230,000 QAR+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for the implementation, update, and deployment of the Export Control Framework across the Air Sector’s operations in Qatar and Oman, including Dukhan Typhoon Main Operating Base, Qatar Armed Forces Technical Institute (QTI), the Al Fardan Office in Doha, and the Oman business’ Muscat office and customer sites
  • To understand, apply, implement, train and assure Export Control compliance, and Export Control licensing obligations within Qatar and Oman.
  • To maintain a trusted relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, the customer and be the primary point of contact for all programme export control and licensing related requirements
  • This role is frequently required to make independent and business critical decisions on what is and is not permissible under export control regulations and licensing approvals

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Knowledge on how to develop, implement and embed Export Control, Licensing and Information Security policies & procedures at Business Unit and Programme level
  • Expertise in the application of complex laws & regulations to business activities including engineering, employment and supply chain practices, security arrangements, IM&T systems and business winning actions
  • Ability to plan and conduct effective investigations and audits.
  • Proven Team Management experience
  • Specific, UK, USA, European defence Export Control understanding
  • Experience of working in a high regulated complex working environment

Desirable

  • Typically, degree qualified or relevant business experience
  • Advantageous to have a legal background /qualification but not essential
