Job Title: Electrical Manager

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow

Salary: Circa £60,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountability and responsibility for SHE within a manufacturing area and be responsible for SHE related activities within associated areas
  • Leading, managing and controlling work across a multi-skilled team, to ensure safe assembly, production, testing and delivery of the product in line with the agreed timescale, quality standards and cost
  • Promoting a continuous improvement approach to quality, driving out waste and improving performance, incorporating lessons learned, best practice techniques and knowledge sharing
  • Supporting the development of your team’s capability to ensure the right skills, knowledge and behaviours are harnessed and that people are empowered and supported to continuously improve the processes and ways of working
  • Ensuring learning, knowledge and experience is shared across the build stages to promote a ‘process based’, integrated multi-skilled team approach and enable a more effective and efficient operation
  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate governance processes and standards

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Time served in an electrical bias and experience within comparable industries
  • Proven experience of managing teams
  • Excellent communicator with ability to explain complex and diverse programme challenges effectively at all levels
  • Ability to enhance business performance through continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of shipbuilding production processes in complex warship delivery
  • Previously accountable for managing SHE in a manufacturing area
  • Project management experience including cost, schedule and quality

The Ship 2 HMS Cardiff team:

Join our team and play a key part in one of the UK’s major ship build programmes and reporting directly to the Production Manager, you’ll lead up to 3 Supervisors and collaborate closely with a diverse workforce. Working on Ship 2 HMS Cardiff your role will involve extensive stakeholder management and direct customer interactions, providing exposure to all functions within the business. You’ll work alongside other Managers, interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders.
