JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Egress Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing egress systems, and components on the Hawk aircraft and support equipment. Using all resources available they will maintain aircraft to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnosing faults and administrative support to the AMO as directed by the Egress Supervisor; including but not limited to complying with all relevant company policies. Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, it’s components and resource SQEP levels.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To carry out egress maintenance, repairs and modifications for Hawk on and off aircraft.
  • Perform major and minor egress maintenance, repairs, modifications and TCTO’s for Hawk on and off aircraft.
  • Is responsible for the quality and completeness of the work he carries out, or signs for as having been carried out, on an aircraft or aircraft component in accordance with the approved data.
  • Works within the requirements of the Quality Management System, Safety Management System and RSAF Technical Orders.
  • Completes Maintenance paperwork forms, appropriate aircraft forms, records and maintenance documentation both hard and electronic copies.
  • Highlights to his immediate supervisor areas of inexperience or training requirements, for himself and others.
  • Provides on-the-job and theory training for trainees.
  • Deputises, if required, for the Egress supervisor.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,

Or

  • Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

RECRUITMENT

Essential:

  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
  • Have at extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR substantial experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Relevant equipment specific training.

Desirable:

  • Broad Aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures
