Job Location: Adelaide is the preferred location for this position; however, the role can also be based in Melbourne. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, including a 9-day fortnight.

Role Description:
Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager – Surface Ships, the Cyber Security Architect is responsible for ensuring appropriate cyber security controls are in place to defend our digital estate and operational technology, and meet our compliance obligations. The Cyber Security Architect works closely with the Cyber Security and Architecture teams in ensuring systems are designed and implemented in a secure manner appropriate to organisations risk posture. The Cyber Security Architect should have a good understanding of ICT systems and the latest security standards to ensure projects address cyber risk.
Core Duties:
- Provide security recommendations throughout the project life cycle and guide teams to align security standards, procedures and applicable controls based on risk and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with the broader Digital, Data and Cyber teams to ensure we are working towards a Modern Defensible Architecture.
- Provide technical security advice and design input in relation to Cloud, Web, Application, IT, IoT and Operational Technology systems
- Lead Threat Modelling and design risk assessment activities within the Surface Ships business.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Surface Ships ICT security posture and be proactive in recommending changes and enhancements where required
- Work with the Cyber Security Manager to research and develop security architectures to drive future business strategy and align with security principles
- Work with the broader Cyber Security Group to ensure cyber architecture artefacts are aligned with those produced across the business. As a senior staff member, mentor team members and provide cyber security advice to other staff
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated relevant experience across Identity, Network Security, Cloud Security, Infrastructure, Operating Systems and Applications
- Experience working with Operational Technology is desirable
- Understanding of Information security manual (ISM) and other global Industry security standards(NIST, ISO, PCI DSS, …) relating to ICT Security
- Knowledge of Enterprise and Security Architecture frameworks (SABSA, TOGAF)
- Experience in providing guidance to project delivery by designing and developing secure solutions and implementing security principles
- Professional Security certifications are desirable such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or other similar credentials
- A Degree in ICT or Engineering related is desirable
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
