Contract Manager – Outsourcing

Role Description:
As a Contract Manager- Outsourcing you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Core Duties:
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements.
- Support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business by engaging with strategic sourcing and category management teams as appropriate.
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationship with the suppliers, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
- Identify and manage supplier risks and opportunities, including those of the suppliers’ supply chains.
- Lead and develop team members to deliver the required Suitably Qualified Experience Personnel (SQEP) to meet the needs of the business.
Essential Skills:
- Prior experience within the defence sector would be highly regarded.
- Strong technical background, including the ability to interpret and work from technical drawings.
- Degree qualification in an engineering or commercial discipline (desirable).
- Professional procurement accreditation, such as MCIPS (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Proven experience in developing, managing, and negotiating contracts with key suppliers.
