Job Description

Job Title: Business Winning Manager

Location: Rochester; Kent

Salary: £60,000 – £85,000 depending on level of experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Strategy: Supporting Capture Teams and Product Lines in developing effective win strategies and product line strategies to succeed in the marketplace
  • Competitive Intelligence: Informing strategy through actionable competitor, customer and market intelligence
  • Price to Win: Analysing competitors’ technical solutions and approaches to estimate bid pricing and shape a winning commercial position
  • Proposals: Evaluating customer assessment criteria and our value proposition to manage and produce compelling, winning proposals
  • Tools and Training: Contributing to and embracing Inc. and Plc. tools and training initiatives to strengthen Business Development and Capture capabilities

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience supporting competitive tendering for either UK MOD or US DoD, with experience in both considered an advantage; use of the UK MOD AWARD process is considerably desirable
  • Project management experience, including use of MS Project and understanding of work breakdown structures, cost breakdown structures and project master schedules
  • Demonstrated financial skills, with the ability to assess costs and pricing to support capture and proposal decisions
  • Technical knowledge highly desirable, with the ability to understand requirements and consider their potential impact on pricing and project decisions
  • A proactive self-starter with the drive to make a meaningful impact on priorities for Rochester and the wider BAE Systems Inc. and Plc

The Business Winning Team:

Working across all the product lines at the Rochester Business Centre you will provide support across capture, proposal, and business growth activities, helping to drive business-winning success. This includes project management responsibilities and applying financial awareness, with technical knowledge desirable. You will also bring experience supporting competitive tendering for either the UK MOD or US DoD, with experience in both considered an advantage.

In this role, you will support Product Leads, Business Development Managers, and Capture Managers by providing guidance and best practice to enhance business-winning activities. You will assist with the development of product, campaign, and capture strategies, and support proposal and pricing activities.

You will be part of the RBC Business Winning team, a small, specialist function providing support across three areas: Proposal Management, Price to Win development, and Customer and Competitive Intelligence (CI) gathering and assessment. This role is based onsite at Rochester, Kent, with the potential to work from home and finish early on Fridays, depending on business needs.
