Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Coordinator to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne, SA. We are seeking someone driven and ready to learn about the ship building environment and processes.
As an Area Coordinator, you will be accountable to support the Area Manager, to safely coordinate and deliver key phases of work across the Forward Ship Area of the vessel. The role requires a willingness to learn and grow within a fast paced environment. You will be responsible for coordination of cross-functional teams ensuring that safety, quality, cost and schedule for Ship construction meets program goals and deliverables. We are seeking someone driven and ready to learn about the ship building environment and processes.
Core Duties:
- This role is accountable for supporting the Area Manager in delivering projects and engineering outputs, in accordance with the developed plan
- The Area Coordinator is required to facilitate activities and tasks for specific projects, ensuring production activities are executed safely and efficiently
- Coordination and de-confliction of production activities in accordance with the Ship Plan of Day (SPOD)
- Support with enablement of build including the facilitation of production issue resolution, to ensure that hold-ups to schedule are minimised
- Establish strong relationships and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure best for program outcomes
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in an engineering, production or defence environment is preferred
- Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver
- Experience with stakeholder management within the production environment
- Understanding of Earned Value Management
- Ability to adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
- This role requires a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA)
