The Hawk Lead-In Fighter is a tandem, two-seater jet aircraft, leading the way for a 5th generation Air Force. The BAE Systems team provides state-of-the-art fast jet training capability and in-service support for the aircraft, including maintenance, engineering, supply chain services, and lays the foundation for future mission system upgrades: What we do – Hawk Lead-In Fighter.

About the OPPORTUNITIES

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures) to join the Hawk Lead-In Fighter program within our Aerospace organisation. In this role you will be responsible to the Team Leader for carrying out scheduled servicing and unscheduled maintenance at our RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW site.

Note, relocation support is available for candidates living outside the Williamtown, Hunter, and Maitland regions.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production, maintenance and repair sheet metal, bonded and non-metallic composite material and components on aircraft
  • Work in an Aviation Environment at a standard to meet all regulatory and airworthiness requirements
  • Be responsible to the Team Leader to carry out scheduled servicing and other unscheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure maintenance and technical documentation or data used during maintenance is authorised for use and is compliant.
  • Correctly and promptly record details of work performed on the correct documents, and if required, to gain certification of the performance of such work in the required timeframes
  • Ensure that all appropriate documentation for engineering advice, defect reporting, maintenance deficiencies and publication amendments are incorporated as directed
  • Report to the Team Leader all defects, deficiencies, maintenance errors and unserviceability’s as they arise
  • Carry out maintenance only to the delegated and authorised level
  • Initiate quality, non-conformance or defect reporting relating to maintenance tasks as directed

About YOU

  • Hold a relevant Aircraft Maintenance Trade i.e. Cert IV Aeroskills – Structures (Mandatory).
  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence Clearance (Mandatory).
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with Defence Military Aircraft.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver work within a fast-paced team environment.
