Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Finance team sits at the heart of the bank, with sub-teams of Financial Reporting and Control, Financial Performance and Analysis, Regulatory Reporting and Treasury. They play a key role in planning and managing capital and liquidity and assessing financial performance. The team will steer the way as we work towards a listing on a public capital market.

Reporting to the Capital Specialists and assisting the Head of Capital & Impairments, you will assist them in the shaping and delivery of capital and impairment management. Atom aims to become an AIRB bank and is required to develop its systems, processes, and people to maximise the advantage from this strategic goal. This role is essential in ensuring that the bank is fully prepared for AIRB while ensuring BAU capital management continues to keep Atom safe and compliant with all regulations.

The role plays an essential part in ensuring Atom pursues one of the most highly coveted designation, an A-IRB waiver. In doing so, Atom aspires to demonstrate that it implements standards suitable for a bank of its size and complexity to all aspects of data and model driven decision making.

What will your ‘typical’ day look like…. (Different that’s for sure):

  • Review and analysis of the monthly capital file
  • Assist with maintaining and improving the end-to-end RWA process through development and automation of processes and controls including asset classification and risk weight assignation
  • Work with Finance Planning and Analysis team to maintain and improve loss forecasting
  • Assist the bank’s roll out plan and the IRB programme
  • Assist with the review of regulatory papers related to prudential regulation for relevance and impact to Atom
  • Develop capital allocation methodologies
  • Develop tools and plans for assessing and forecasting capital adequacy
  • Assist with the production of Pillar 3, ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Resolution Pack

What do we need from you?

  • Significant experience of prudential regulation and regulatory capital reporting
  • Preparation of Pillar 3 and ICAAP documents
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of capital management and capital regulation in the UK financial services sector
  • Ability, willingness to learn new skills and increase knowledge
  • Understanding of stress testing modelling
  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills able to deal with/challenge senior management.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to work under own initiative
  • Ability, willingness, and desire to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
