Headquartered in London, the Brands have over 2 million customers across the globe through the ASOS platform and generate brand sales of c£200m. Our mission is to unlock the best of fashion for everyone, with creativity and innovation at our core.

Following the formation of a Joint Venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is creating a standalone cross-functional team within ASOS which is dedicated to unlocking the huge growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands. The brands will now benefit from ASOS infrastructure and resources while enjoying the creative freedom and agility of standalone brands.

The next 12 months for TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will see the expansion of the brands’ offline and online retail presence with the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.

Job Description

THE ROLE

As a Senior Designer for Topshop, you’ll play a key role in driving brand success across multiple departments by delivering best-in-class product and ensuring Topshop stays ahead of the curve in trend and newness, constantly pushing the range forward for our global markets.

You will contribute to design direction and ensure that product is aligned to the brand\’s strategic vision & focused on delivering a compelling and commercial offer appropriate for our target customer. This role will involve working cross-functionally with studios and styling teams to ensure from concept to styling and influencing shoots, the brand aesthetic is consistently delivered to our customer.

You’ll be organised, collaborative, and always looking ahead – spotting what’s next and bringing fresh ideas and innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing...

  • Researching and developing trends to deliver collections for Topshop, by identifying big ideas, key seasonal shapes, and introducing newness in fabric, trend, and hero pieces for the Topshop customer.
  • Designing new and distinctive products that align with the Topshop brand strategy, ensuring a balanced range across customer profiles and end uses—from volume drivers and seasonal must-haves to standout press-worthy pieces.
  • Spot and act on emerging product opportunities in the market to keep Topshop ahead of the curve with trend-led designs.
  • Present key looks and styling direction across categories and ranges to support studio shoot execution in line with brand strategy.
  • Use relevant sales data and insights to design commercially strong, fashion-forward ranges.
  • Anticipate customer needs by combining sales data, customer analytics, and trend research to deliver product ranges that excite and resonate.

Qualifications

You’re a creative and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the fashion landscape and a proven track record of delivering world-class product that blends originality with commercial appeal.

Confident in presenting ideas and influencing stakeholders, you lead with a clear design vision that inspires teams and drives the brand forward, balancing innovation with strategic focus to create must-have seasonal pieces.

You’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience designing across multiple product categories – including softs, formal, and casual – ideally within a global retail environment.
  • Strong trend research and the ability to translate insights into brand-aligned design direction, with a sharp eye for print, graphics, embroidery, and embellishment.
  • Expertise in fabric sourcing and development across Far East, India, and European markets, bringing fresh direction to collections.
  • Hands-on collaboration with pattern cutters to develop new silhouettes from concept to sample, driving innovation in fit and shape.
  • Strategic thinking across categories and end uses, with a deep understanding of the Topshop customer and segmentation.
  • Confident presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain buy-in from cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Awareness of global retail trends, market conditions, and opportunities, ensuring Topshop remains ahead of the curve.

You’ll also play a key role in leading and developing junior team members, giving clear direction, regular feedback, and helping them develop in role.
