Job Description

APM Terminals

Opportunity

APM Terminals is a port infrastructure leader, uniquely positioned to help both shipping line and landside customers grow their business and achieve better supply chain efficiency, flexibility, and dependability.

Part of A.P. Moller-Maersk, we leverage more than 100 years of industry experience to design and build high-quality container terminals.

We are seeking 2025 fresh graduates from the following fields: Génie Informatique, Génie Logistique et Transport.

Purpose

To ensure efficient planning of vessel or yard operations using the Terminal Operating System, enabling the safe achievement of productivity and capacity targets through adherence to best practices and responsive support during operational deviations.
This position requires working in rotational shifts to support 24/7 terminal operations.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel Planning

  • Oversee the entire cargo control process, ensuring timely submission and accuracy of vessel-related EDIs and load-lists before vessel ETA.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines and relevant stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, including changes after cut-off times.
  • Collaborate with Liner Operations Cluster and Global Stowage Planners to ensure efficient and safe vessel planning, addressing planning disturbances promptly.
  • Manage vessel operations by preparing and communicating load/discharge sequences, maintaining quay-operation system updates, and ensuring prompt post-operation reporting.
  • Ensure all loading documents and crane sequences are shared prior to vessel arrival and all paperwork is delivered on time.
  • Maintain vessel stability and safety compliance throughout operations, continually seeking process improvements and enhancing system proficiency.
  • Support overall operations goals through active participation in the Integrated Operations Centre.
As vessel operations run continuously, vessel planning activities are performed in shifts.

Yard Planning

  • Implement and maintain yard strategy via accurate container decking and terminal operating system (TOS) settings.
  • Provide contingency plans during exceptions to minimize unproductive moves and maintain operational continuity.
  • Ensure yard inventory accuracy between TOS and ARMG systems and monitor yard integrity and density.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to optimize yard performance, equipment utilization, and strategic allocations.
  • Nominate empty equipment for shipment and report regularly on yard operations metrics.
  • Contribute to operational excellence through continuous system skill development and cross-functional teamwork in the Integrated Operations Centre.
Given the 24/7 nature of yard operations, yard planners work in rotational shifts.

Who we are looking for

  • Master or Engineering degree in relevant fields (IT, mechanic, automation, civil, industrial, statistics, business administration or similar).
Fresh graduates from 2025 are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Requires at least one year of experience in a similar field (internships and apprenticeship experience are considered).
  • Requires a high level of planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain high-quality work under pressure.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work independently within defined processes, maintaining strong relationships with customers, staff, and project teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to provide solutions to issues/exceptions in a short timeframe.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to work in rotational shifts is essential for this role
