Job Description

APM Terminals

At APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Work in a multinational terminal environment collaborating with local and global stakeholders.
  • Gain exposure to port and terminal operations, cargo logistics, and APM Terminals management systems.
  • Access continuous learning opportunities through on-the-job development, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Contribute to strengthening terminal security, business resilience, and operational continuity through continuous improvement initiatives.

Security Manager

We are looking for a Security Manager to lead and coordinate all security-related activities at APM Terminals MedPort Tangier (TM2). Reporting to the Head of HSSE, you will serve as the terminal’s focal point for security, ensuring compliance with security regulations, managing security risks, protecting people and assets, and supporting business continuity through effective security governance and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and ensure compliance with the ISPS Code, local regulations, and APM Terminals security requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Terminal Security Plan, procedures, protocols, and contingency arrangements.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, inspections, drills, exercises, and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate threats.
  • Lead security risk management activities related to theft, smuggling, corruption, violence, and other operational security threats.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with government authorities, law enforcement agencies, customs, emergency services, and port stakeholders.
  • Monitor security performance through KPIs, incident reporting, governance processes, and corrective action implementation.
  • Deliver security awareness programs, training, investigations, and support the implementation of Duty of Care programs across the terminal.

What We Are Looking For

Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.

Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently puts customers first, leads by example with respect for people, delivers results with integrity, and drives continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.

  • Master's degree in Security Management, Business Administration, International Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in security management, law enforcement, military, port security, or a related discipline, with experience managing security risks and incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of the ISPS Code, security risk management principles, compliance frameworks, and relevant regulatory requirements. ISPS/PFSO certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, engage with authorities, and build effective working relationships across diverse environments.
  • Fluent in English with strong analytical, communication, reporting, and Microsoft Office skills. Arabic and/or French is an advantage.
