Governance, Reporting & Analytics Lead
Job Description
APM Terminals
At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.
As part of our Growth Strategy, we are investing in greenfield projects to expand our global footprint and working with our existing brownfield sites to deliver best-in-class terminals worldwide. Our ability to design and build a terminal, stand up an operational organisation, and secure commercial business is pivotal to achieving these ambitions. In this role, you will sit at the heart of our Business Implementation Management (BIM) transversal — owning governance, assurance, reporting and analytics across a multi-billion-dollar global portfolio of capital infrastructure projects.
What We Can Offer
At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.
- Global exposure across a multi-billion-dollar capital projects portfolio, partnering with senior leaders from design through execution into operations.
- A platform to apply AI and automation to modernise reporting workflows and elevate decision-support across the BIM function.
- A Lean-led, continuous-improvement culture where governance is treated as an enabler, not a bottleneck.
- Onsite role based at our Head Office in The Hague, embedded with the global PMO leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of direct reports, setting clear direction, prioritisation, and quality standards.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the BIM assurance framework that evidences application of standards, controls, and processes across the portfolio.
- Own and evolve the BIM system of meetings and communication flow, keeping it lean, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with business needs.
- Lead BIM portfolio- and functional-level reporting, defining standards, data requirements, validation routines, and quality controls for trusted, decision-oriented outputs.
- Translate complex data into clear performance, risk, and trend insights for senior leaders, and leverage AI and automation to streamline reporting and analytics.
- Oversee BIM resource forecasting and utilisation reporting, providing clear insights on demand, capacity, and emerging gaps to support portfolio planning.
- Partner with Technology teams to shape project portfolio management system strategy, governance, and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment between system capabilities, reporting needs, and analytics requirements.
What We Are Looking For:
- Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset — curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
- Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
- Minimum 10 years' exposure to project management environments, preferably in construction or capital infrastructure, with a broad base across project controls disciplines — planning, cost and estimating, risk, change, stakeholder management, Earned Value Management, and document management.
- Proven experience developing project standards, delivering project assurance, and producing high-quality reports and performance insights for senior management.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management systems such as Oracle Primavera, plus hands-on experience with data and analytics tools like Power BI, PowerApps, and Miro.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication, with the ability to present insights succinctly, facilitate sessions, and operate effectively in a multicultural, global environment.
- Project management qualifications (PMI, Prince2, APM PMQ or equivalent) are desirable; some international travel may be required.
