Job Description

APM Terminals

Network Planning Operations Support

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

About the Role

Network Planning covers activities that establish, deploy, optimise and terminate sea and air routes, inland trade lanes, terminals and warehouse locations to support the smooth movement of cargo and containers across the supply chain.

In this administrative role, you will support others by carrying out skilled technical, administrative and operational activities. You will work within established standards and processes, applying your developing technical and practical knowledge to support effective operations.

You will work on tasks of limited scope and complexity, exercising independent judgment within defined boundaries and guidelines. Your knowledge and capability will continue to develop through job-related training and practical, on-the-job experience.

What We Can Offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Build practical experience in Network Planning activities supporting the smooth movement of cargo and containers across the supply chain.
  • Develop your technical and operational knowledge through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
  • Strengthen your ability to work independently within established standards, processes and guidelines.
  • Gain exposure to network information covering sea and air routes, inland trade lanes, terminals and warehouse locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Network Planning activities related to establishing, deploying, optimising and terminating sea and air routes, inland trade lanes, terminals and warehouse locations.
  • Maintain relevant network information for networks operated by customer vendors and Maersk vendors.
  • Perform skilled technical, administrative and operational tasks to support operations.
  • Apply standardised work routines, methods and established standards when carrying out assigned activities.
  • Exercise independent judgment on tasks of limited scope and complexity within defined boundaries and guidelines.
  • Apply established processes while making appropriate departures from them when required to resolve problems within the scope of the role.
  • Escalate non-routine problems to a more experienced colleague or supervisor where appropriate.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Practical knowledge: Skills developed through job-related training and on-the-job experience within a specific job discipline.
  • Standardised working: Knowledge of standardised work routines and methods, together with relevant general facts and information.
  • Sound judgment: Ability to exercise independent judgment on tasks of limited scope and complexity while working within defined boundaries and guidelines.
  • Problem escalation: Ability to recognise non-routine problems and escalate them to a more experienced colleague or supervisor when appropriate.
  • Developing business knowledge: This role is suitable for someone with limited job and business knowledge at the time of hiring who can build their capabilities through practical experience.
