Job Description

Salary: Circa £47,000 depending on skills and experience and business use of company van

Permanent : Full Time, 37 hours per week with flexibility for part time

Location: Covering East areas of the Anglian Water Region, such Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex

What you will be doing?

Reporting directly to the Proactive Pumping Station Manager you will work within the teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency across our Treatment Works and Pumping Station Assets. Providing Technical support, expertise and advice to deliver effective and efficient operations of Water Recycling Operations resources, processes, assets and systems.

As part of your role you will identify, implement and share improvements to facilitate effective and efficient operation of the Water Recycling Operations process, working closely with relevant teams to delivery efficient solutions to operational issues. This will include coaching and supporting in the development and performance management of Technicians.

Key tasks include:

  • Develop, encourage and foster good and safe working practices and work in accordance with the Company’s safety rules at all times .

  • Work within the Ovarro Pump insight to analyse asset performance and upload data.

  • Manage available resource to ensure all maintenance work is delivered within agreed level of service.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all actions are achieved on service completion.

  • Drive continuous improvement of process and service through implementation of new ideas/equipment.

  • Provide expert support to monitor and coach field resources in techniques/equipment used for the service and maintenance of pumping station asset.

What does it take to be a Senior Operations Technician?

  • Full driving licence

  • Demonstrate experience and awareness of Health and Safety within an operational environment

  • Ability to adapt communication style (both written and verbal) to suit a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrate customer service skills and ability to deal with customers in an empathetic and professional manner

  • Knowledge or understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical systems used in wastewater is desirable but not essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical subject would be desirable. NVQ 2 is also acceptable for the right candidate.

  • Knowledge or understanding of wastewater systems including Ovarro and processes would be beneficial .

  • In this role you must be able to work within a confined space, and at height without restrictions. Due to harness weight limits, your maximum weight cannot be in excess of 113 kilograms, and you will be expected to complete relevant occupational health checks including Hand-arm Vibration (HAV)
