Contract: Permanent Full time (with flexibility for Part-Time)
Salary: £34,258 (24% standby uplift)

What Will You Be Doing as a Restoration Technician?As a Restoration Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, clean drinking water is delivered to over 6 million customers every day. Working within a regional Restoration team, you’ll respond to both planned and reactive interruption-to-supply events—deploying innovative equipment, designing bespoke onsite solutions, and supporting major capital delivery schemes.This hands‑on, technical role includes maintaining restoration plant and equipment, delivering operational deployments, working collaboratively across Water Services, and supporting Anglian Water’s response to major incidents. You’ll take the lead on site, regularly updating the Operational Management Centre, and play a critical part in improving our ODI performance and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, manage, and prepare restoration plant, tools, and HGVs to ensure continuous readiness.
  • Deploy and recover restoration equipment safely and effectively in both planned works and emergency situations.
  • Work with planning teams and Water Services colleagues to design and deliver bespoke supply restoration solutions.
  • Lead onsite delivery of restoration activities and provide real-time progress updates to the Operational Management Centre.
  • Support proactive and reactive water quality testing during deployment and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, fleet colleagues, and third-party providers to maintain equipment and tanker operability.
  • Provide technical expertise, support training of others, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota to support 24/7 customer needs, including major incident response.
  • Promote and uphold Anglian Water’s commitment to Health & Safety, maintaining a zero‑accident culture.

What Attributes Are Required?

  • Experience in technical operations, maintenance, or field‑based deployment—ideally in utilities or water services.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Problem‑solving skills, resilience, and confidence working in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to learn specialist skills such as HGV driving (water tankers), linestopping installation, emergency chlorination, and overland mains construction.
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service and delivering high‑quality operational outcomes.
