Anglian Water offers flexible hybrid working, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office, ideally working from the office an average of two days per week. Your base location will ideally be in Huntingdon or Peterborough.

Play a Leading Role in Shaping the Future of Water Management

At Anglian Water, we know that building resilient drainage and water resource systems is a shared challenge — and we’re not in it alone. From local councils and highways authorities to environmental groups and community organisations, collaboration is key to managing growing demand and the impacts of climate change. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive individual to lead the way in building powerful partnerships that drive sustainable, catchment-based solutions. In this role, you’ll take the lead on shaping how we collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders — from statutory consultees to non-governmental organisations — ensuring our strategic plans, such as our Drainage and Water Recycling Management Plan (DWMP) are built on a foundation of shared insight, innovation, and action.

Working closely with our technical experts and engagement teams (including the water industry national environment programme), you’ll help identify high-risk and high-opportunity catchments and shape joined-up solutions that can be taken from strategy through to delivery.

If you’re ready to drive change, influence strategy, and help us lead the future of integrated water management — we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop and deliver an effective stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring statutory requirements are met. Drive collaboration across water companies, communities, and key partners to align strategic planning with environmental and regulatory goals.

  • Drive Collaborative Solutions: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., local authorities, catchment partnerships) to identify and develop multi-beneficial projects that support joint action and investment across water and drainage networks.

  • Manage Reporting and Engagement Tools: Organise stakeholder events, maintain engagement tools such as Tractivity, and use GIS to monitor and report on collaboration areas and progress.

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Full private healthcare with no excess

  • 26 days leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays, with the option to swap Christmas and Easter holidays for those celebrated by your religion

  • A flexible and friendly working culture

  • Competitive pension scheme – we double-match your contributions up to 6%

  • Life Assurance at eight times your salary

  • Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary

  • Bonus Scheme

  • Lots of great discounts

If you are offered a job with us, you’ll be subject to the relevant/standard employment checks, including: your right to work in the UK, reference, driving licence and identity check. Depending on your role, you may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.

About You:

You’ll be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience) with some understanding of the water and water recycling sector. Ideally, you’ll hold chartered membership with a relevant professional body such as CIWEM or IoW.

You’ll bring experience in stakeholder-focused roles, with a proven track record of collaborating on complex projects and engaging a wide range of audiences — especially within regulatory and risk management environments. Experience working with organisations like the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, and other risk management authorities is highly desirable.

Key skills include:

  • Exceptional communication – confident presenting and tailoring technical information for diverse audiences

  • Strong stakeholder management – able to influence and build effective working relationships

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills

  • Strategic thinker who can challenge constructively and adapt in a dynamic environment

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data quality
