Drive Growth. Lead a Team. Shape the Future of the East.

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for customer service, infrastructure development, and team leadership? Anglian Water is looking for a Growth Development Manager to lead our engagement with customers and drive housing and business growth across our region.

About the Role

As a Growth Development Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional service to national, regional, and local developers. You’ll lead a high-performing team, manage key accounts, and shape the strategic direction of our Developer Services. This is a dynamic, client-facing role that blends relationship management, commercial strategy, and operational delivery. The role is a main driver in the balance between delivering for our customers and driving commercial activities.

At Anglian Water, we don’t just deliver essential services — we enable sustainable, long-term growth across some of the UK’s most dynamic communities. We’re looking for an exceptional Growth Development Manager to spearhead developer customer growth across the East of England and Hartlepool, and to lead a talented team of Account Managers who are passionate about delivering.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead with purpose: Manage and inspire a small team of dedicated Account Managers, guiding them to build strong relationships, exceed expectations, and grow our developer customer base.

  • Own key relationships: Serve as the strategic point of contact for national, regional, and local developer clients, ensuring we are a trusted partner in their growth plans.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across planning, delivery, strategy, continuous improvement, and marketing to align our services with long-term regional development goals.

  • Shape strategic outcomes: Influence infrastructure investment, sustainability targets, and housing expansion efforts that directly support regional prosperity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in customer service, account management, and business development — ideally within utilities, infrastructure, housing, or public sector partnerships.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer focus.

  • Proven success in leading high-performing teams and managing strategic client relationships.

  • A collaborative mindset, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive results through influence and insight.

  • A passion for making a tangible difference in communities through sustainable growth.

Key skills:

  • Proven experience in Developer Services in the water industry or similar sector, specifically experience and understanding of large commercial developers and NAV customers.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with a focus on ensuring value for money is delivered for customers

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data analytics

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Strategic thinker, aligned with customer needs and business goals.

  • Ability to balance business objectives with financial and customer considerations.

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Full private healthcare with no excess

  • 26 days leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays, with the option to swap Christmas and Easter holidays for those celebrated by your religion

  • A flexible working culture

  • Competitive pension scheme – we double-match your contributions up to 6% (for 18% combined)

  • Life Assurance at 8 times your salary

  • Personal Accident cover – up to 5 times your salary

  • Bonus Scheme

  • Lots of great discounts

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle
