Want a role where your work genuinely helps protect water for future generations?
We’re looking for a Consumption Leader to shape how customers use water, influence behaviour at scale, and deliver meaningful change across our region.
This is a senior leadership role within our Billing, Collections & Consumption team, with real ownership of water‑saving strategies, customer engagement programmes and regulatory outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the strategic direction and delivery of behaviour‑change initiatives that support key performance commitments (PCC and CMEX), ensuring customers are engaged, informed and motivated to use water wisely.
That means:
Designing and delivering customer engagement and behaviour‑change strategies
Working closely with regulators and external partners (EA, Ofwat, Defra and industry groups)
Shaping and delivering plans within the Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) and AMP programmes
Leading water‑saving initiatives including smart meter consumption journeys, customer side leakage and smart devices
Managing and inspiring Consumption Project Managers to deliver joined‑up, customer‑first outcomes
Using insight and segmentation to tailor messages that genuinely resonate
Collaborating with Communications, Operations and Customer Services to deliver consistent, impactful messaging
Use data to drive performance and enhance digital customer journeys
Leadership & culture
You’ll lead with purpose — creating a positive, inclusive and safe environment where people can do their best work. Health, safety and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything we do, and you’ll actively role‑model our ‘Safer Every Day’ culture.
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring:
Strong experience in water or energy efficiency, consumption or resource management
Proven leadership in delivering programmes or projects at scale
The ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent communication skills — from community conversations to regulatory reporting
Tenacity, creativity and a passion for driving meaningful behaviour change
A degree (or equivalent experience) and a natural curiosity for what works best for customers
We invest in our people - as a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:
Personal private health care
Generous double match pension – contribute 7% and Anglian Water will contribute 14%, giving a total contribution of 21%
24-hour Virtual GP service for you and your household
26 days annual leave – rising with length of service and the ability to buy more
Life assurance (up to 8 x salary)
Personal accident cover (up to 5 x salary)
Excellent family friendly policies, such as 26 weeks full pay for maternity / adoption leave, as well as 4 weeks paid paternity / partner leave. Opportunity for shared parental pay
Bonus scheme
Flexible benefits and working culture to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
