The use of advanced communication techniques implies the possibility of increasing the data rate with a low cost for the final user. On the other hand, 5G technology has evolved and been introduced not only in civilian world but also in defense. The different use cases for 5G and future 6G in aircrafts are increasing and there is a need to study the possibilities and limitations of 5G in airborne communications.

Our objective is to explore many new technologies in Airbus. The scope of the intership is to study the performances offered by 5G in air platforms (UAVs, etc.). Particularly, the candidate will be part of the following work:

  • Analysis of 5G performances in airborne communications for different scenarios, including directive antenna, gNodeB and UE.
