In order to support the sustainability ambition and journey at Airbus Defence and Space we are looking for a

Working student in Sustainability and Business Development (d/f/m)

You are a full time student, looking for a working student position and want to explore how to be a sustainability ambassador (d/f/m) and create impact ? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the Sustainability team as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week!

  • Location: Ottobrunn
  • Start: as soon as possible
  • Duration: 12 months


Definition working student

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • to contribute to the Sustainability Ambition and Roadmap plan and support the implementation of concrete actions.
  • to support our impact innovation activities with market analysis and business models/business development activities.
  • Support ecosystem and business development activities in wildfire fighting and sustainable aviation fuel.
  • to support the management and participate to dedicated projects actively.
  • to support on measuring performance of our domain within Airbus Defence and Space.
  • Further we aim to inspire people to integrate sustainability in the business by being role models.
  • to assist the team in employee engagement, prepare and help in communication (e.g. taking care of our Newsletter and maintaining our Google Site).


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of sustainability management, environmental science, business studies, economics, communications, engineering or an equivalent field of study.
  • You have a proficiency level in Google Suite.
  • You already have some previous experience or deep interest in the field of Sustainability (would be a plus) and business development.
  • You have experience in business modeling and business case analysis.
  • You are creative and enjoy developing new ideas and concepts.
  • You are highly motivated and interested in sustainability and have a "can-do" attitude.
  • You have a structured working approach and lots of initiative.
  • You have good project management skills.
  • Your English is Fluent; German Proficiency would be a plus.
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
  • Most important, you have strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
