VIE within Materials and Processes for Organic Materials (d/f/m)

Definition VIE

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Candidates meeting these criteria and interested in a VIE, please register before your 28th birthday on the website www.civiweb.com . Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Support in research and development projects in the field of high performance composite materials for helicopter applications and associated processes.
  • Literature research and scientific evaluation of results.
  • Digitalization and material data handling.
  • Operational projects.
  • Documentation and presentation.


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Preferably Master degree in aerospace engineering, material science, or similar.
  • Solid background and knowledge in the field of polymeric and composite materials.
  • Basic knowledge in the field of material testing.
  • Hands-on experience of composites manufacturing and testing technologies would be a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of coding for data driven exchanges & data re-use (vs. documents).
  • Knowledge in coding (VBA, Python) would be an advantage, readiness to learn VBA is mandatory.
  • Language Skills: English - negotiation level, German and French would be a plus
  • Strong ability to work autonomously.
  • Take responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactively drive projects forward.
  • Practical, technical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build up a network within Airbus Helicopters and selected external entities (universities, companies).
