Job Description

Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic Transport Manager - Operations to join our global team, based in Copenhagen. In this role, you will act as the regional guardian of our transport performance for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa), ensuring seamless execution while maintaining strong alignment with our global standards.

What the job is ...

You will be the primary interface between local business stakeholders (e.g., in Copenhagen, London, Dubai) and our external logistics providers. While your focus is regional, you will be an integral part of the global transport organization, collaborating closely with colleagues in Hamburg, the US, and APAC to drive network-wide excellence.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Regional Service Provider Management: You monitor the performance of Transport Service Providers (3PLs/Integrators) within the region. You will conduct performance reviews to ensure local adherence to global SLAs, costs, and quality standards, acting as the "boots on the ground" for our global carrier strategy.
  • Operational Performance & Governance: You oversee the high-level execution of shipments originating from or destined for our EMEA sites. You act not as a dispatcher, but as the escalation point and controller, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations (e.g., EU customs, Brexit requirements).
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: You act as the dedicated Transport Partner for regional Sales, Customer Order Desk, and Warehouse Operations teams in Copenhagen and other EMEA locations. You translate their specific local needs into logistics solutions while ensuring alignment with global governance.
  • Specialized Logistics Solutions: You serve as the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex flows, including AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and project cargo, ensuring local operational hurdles are overcome swiftly.
  • Project Representation: You represent the region in global transport projects. You ensure that regional requirements are considered in global network designs and actively share best practices with your counterparts in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Your location
You will be working at Copenhagen, Denmark. Experience the special flair of Copenhagen in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

How you will contribute to the team

  • Experience: A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration, combined with 3-5+ years of experience in transportation management, freight forwarding, or logistics procurement.
  • Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of the European transport market and regulatory landscape (air, ocean, road, courier). Knowledge of customs and dangerous goods procedures specific to the region is a strong asset.
  • Supplier Management: Proven track record in managing external service providers (3PL/4PL) and strong negotiation skills.
  • Mindset: You have a "Governance Mindset"-you don't just fix problems; you analyze the root cause to prevent them from recurring.
  • Communication: Fluent in English (negotiating level). Ability to communicate complex logistics issues to non-logistics stakeholders clearly.
  • Personality: You remain calm under pressure, are customer-obsessed, and enjoy working in a diverse, global team environment.

As a person

  • You are a relationship builder who bridges the gap between operational logistics and commercial business needs.
  • You possess strong conflict resolution skills and can hold vendors accountable while maintaining a partnership approach.
  • You thrive in an international environment and are comfortable collaborating with colleagues across different time zones and cultures.
