Tools & Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Manager (Matacán Air Base, Salamanca)

Education: Aeronautical, Industrial Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Almost 4-5 years of experience in Maintenance (MRO), Engineering, Production Control, or Tooling Management.
Soft skills: High adaptability to dynamic environment, strong problem-solving mindset, hands-on initiative (&quot;roll up sleeves&quot;), and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Languages: Advanced level in Spanish (both written &amp; spoken). Fluency in English will be a plus.
Technical knowledge: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and AGE management, tooling calibration standards, maintenance planning, and KPI monitoring.
Travel availability: Occasional national travels (to other Airbus facilities or client sites) for training or team meetings.
Valuable / Nice to have: Direct experience with military platform support or C295 aircraft operations.

An opportunity for a Tools & Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Salamanca (MATACÁN Air Base).

The selected candidate will join the MRO Network Team in charge of performing maintenance activities on the C295 MTA fleet at MATACAN Air Base. The team is a multidisciplinary unit responsible for production control, engineering support, and tooling management in a growing maintenance center. The jobholder will reinforce our support structure, managing tooling, means, and GSEs to secure availability, calibration, and operational readiness for each maintenance event.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

Analyze means and tooling requirements prior to each maintenance event, launching requests and guaranteeing full availability.
Manage and secure internal tools and GSE/AGEs, ensuring proper calibration, inventory tracking, and shipment controls.
Anticipate and resolve any shortages of critical tools or ground support equipment to minimize maintenance delays.
Update daily planning and master planning reports with essential event information for weekly progress meetings.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and service levels.
Provide initial engineering support and production control for local maintenance activities in dynamic site conditions.
