Key Responsibilities:

  • Elaborate, optimize and communicate flight tests planning.
  • Prepare and manage flight tests dispatch. Ensure availability of flight tests documentation (including on board and regulatory flight authorizations).
  • Follow-up tests execution to support maturity and safety.
  • Prepare and coordinate all the aspects of a test campaign.
  • Operate test means for flight tests (telemetry, radio, ...).
  • Screen and optimize test requests, screen and optimize planning, support readiness for test execution in close relation with stakeholders, follow-up flight tests related certification documentation.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Test preparation:
    • Elaborating, optimizing, and communicating planning of ground and flight test activities on prototype and series helicopters in accordance with the Test Coordinator/Test Squad Leader.
    • Ensuring the consolidation of all testing activities on aircraft and the involvement of all stakeholders inside and outside the Flight Test Department.
    • Screening and optimizing ground and flight test specifications/orders and supporting feasibility investigations regarding necessary tools, equipment as well as testing infrastructure in general.
    • Preparing flight test campaigns on different locations / areas, mainly in Europe. Supporting the Test Coordinator on negotiation of terms and conditions as well as costs for establishing.
    • Supporting prototype shop during preparation of lay-ups.
    • Supporting readiness for test performance in close relation with all stakeholders:
      • Ensuring that the right test configuration of prototype and series test helicopters is established and documented well (helicopter, test equipment, flight test instrumentation) for each test purpose.
      • Issuing appropriate documentation for the flight clearance approval.
      • Ensure availability of flight tests documentation (including on board and regulatory flight authorizations).
  • Test execution:
    • Contributing to all relevant activities during the testing phases to ensure the test schedule.
    • Supporting on-site and off-site test campaigns on demand / when necessary: Supporting ground and flight test operations.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s, or equivalent diploma), preferably with an aeronautical/aerospace profile.
  • Strong analytical, rigor and problem-solving skills with a proactive and systematic continuous improvement approach, capable of performing effectively even in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility, availability, and the ability to adapt to complex and dynamic scenarios.
  • Advanced level of English and Spanish; French will be highly valued.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Engineering Systems, Vehicle Systems and Avionics, Engineering Requirements, System Design and Development, Systems Integration, Validation and Verification (V&V), Airworthiness, and Flight Safety.
  • Knowledge of rotary-wing platforms, complex avionics systems (e.g., HELIONIX), and TIGER and NH90 fleets will be considered a strong plus.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in systems and systems integration, weaponry, testing, Certification, and Qualification (under EASA or other regulations) is highly desirable.
  • Aeronautical hobbies, knowledge and related experience (PPL, UAS, gliders, etc.) will be considered an asset

IMPORTANT: To spearhead the initiation of the MKIII project, this position will be based in Marignane (France) for an initial 2-year period, with a relocation package.
