An opportunity for a Derivatives Systems Test Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the TADVA2 team within the Flight & Integration Test Centre. Our department is responsible for the planning, preparation, and implementation of all integration test activities at subsystem, system, and aircraft level for programs like A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, and Eurofighter. We provide the necessary testing evidence and develop advanced test means to support development phases. This role offers a challenging opportunity to coordinate aircraft ground and flight integration test activities within a multidisciplinary and highly complex technical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Test Planning & Strategy: Elaborate test planning, review and optimize test requests, and ensure an appropriate Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy aligned with program milestones.
- Test Execution & Flight Support: Assist Flight Test Engineers in preparing flight test orders, monitoring tests via telemetry for safety, and coordinating external flight test campaigns.
- Data Analysis & Tool Optimization: Define required test means for data reduction, optimize analysis methodologies, and validate aircraft limitations and test results.
- Certification & Reporting: Write certification/qualification test plans, cards, and reports, supporting test activities in official meetings with certification authorities.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Interface and coordinate with Design Offices, Chief Engineering, and Test Integrators to provide expertise on system architecture and avionics/mission systems integration.
- Anomaly Management: Author and analyze technical snags and problem reports (PRs), providing the rationale for their closure or requesting necessary design modifications.

- Education: Aeronautical, Telecommunications, or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Integration Testing of Avionics, Mission, or MIDS/Datalinks Systems.
- Technical knowledge: Strong expertise in Test Support Systems and deep knowledge of the integration and tests route map.
- Soft skills: Open-minded profile with a proactive approach to improving processes, high focus on meeting strict timescales, and strong negotiation capabilities.
- Languages: Advanced/Technical negotiation level in English and Spanish.
- Requirements: Availability to travel and work temporarily at other sites (Seville, Manching, or Air Force Bases). Eligibility for NATO Secret clearance.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Any official training or certification in Integration and Testing will be highly valued.
