Job Description

Job Description:

Location: Getafe, Spain Team: Digital Product Management

About the Role

Within Airbus Defence and Space, our Digital division plays a key role as a central function connecting all business and technical processes. At the heart of our products and programs are Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

We are looking for a collaborative and innovative Technical & Functional Engineer to join our multi-cultural team of 7 in Getafe. In this role, you will help shape the future of our digital ecosystem by guiding two critical PDM backbones: the A400M PDM and the Spanish PDM Windchill.

If you love navigating complex technical environments, enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, and want to contribute to the success of cutting-edge defence projects, we would love to meet you.

What You Will Do

As our Digital Product Manager, you will act as the bridge between technical execution and business needs. Your days will be dynamic and varied, with responsibilities spanning two main areas:

Guiding the A400M PLM Information Systems:

  • Act as the Digital focal point for the ADS A400M program, providing functional support and guidance to our Spanish users.
  • Collaborate closely with the Airbus Commercial Aircrafts (ACA) IT teams-who host and maintain the systems-to ensure smooth service availability and coordinate technical changes seamlessly.
  • Advocate for our team by ensuring ADS-specific needs are integrated into ACA-led projects, coordinating project activities with the ADS A400M PLM business.

Shaping the Spanish PDM Windchill Backbone:

  • Serve as the Product Manager and technical guide for the NCCAPA (anomalies management) solution, ensuring high performance, robustness, and security compliance within the Spanish IT environment.
  • Define, organize, and execute the roadmap for Spain in close collaboration with our subcontractor teams, IT Delivery Managers, and Digital Security.
  • Keep our software components up to date and coordinate small-scale projects, such as deploying new interfaces or enhancements (e.g., Single Sign-On).
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Configuration Management, Quality, and Logistics teams, as well as domains like Architecture, IT-Security, and Networking.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams during complex technical investigations.
  • Bring your unique perspective: We highly value fresh ideas and energy to help keep our PDM backbone at the cutting edge of technology.

What You Bring (Essential Skills)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 3+ years) in computer science, engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Configuration Management.
  • A strong understanding of IT architecture, specifically the relationships between servers, networks, clients, applications, and databases (Oracle, Postgre, SQLServer).
  • Solid technical foundations in areas such as APIs (web services, REST), web servers (Apache, Tomcat), and Identity Management (Active Directory, PingFederate).
  • Familiarity with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth) and programming/scripting languages (Java, PowerShell, .Net, Windows/Linux OS).
  • Fluent English skills (written and spoken), as you will regularly collaborate and conduct meetings in an international environment.
  • Please note: This position requires eligibility for Spanish authorities and export control accreditations.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

Don't worry if you don't check every single box below. If you have the core skills and a willingness to learn, we want to hear from you!

  • Hands-on knowledge of Windchill technology.
  • Familiarity with other PDM/PLM standard systems, such as Siemens Teamcenter Enterprise or Dassault 3DExperience.
  • Understanding of DevOps technologies, Enterprise Service Bus (Tibco), Cloud, or AI technologies.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies.
