A vacancy for an Engineering Change Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join Configuration Design Engineering department at Air Power in Spain (TADXC1).

For engineering related stages, you will act as a Change Manager for the Airbus derivatives programs, covering the stablished A330 MRTT but also with activity in the brand new ones A321 AEWC and A321 Patmar. You will be in charge of support to configuration activities for programs, develop the process and tools and prepare the design baselines for different operative purposes. As well you will be part of the new DDMS implementations and other trends that are shaping the future of our Design methodologies and processes. As a centre of competence, you will influence and cross collaborate progressively with other programs and processes under our deparment socpe.

In the framework of your activities, you will have interaction with Design, Systems Analysis, Manufacturing Engineering, Programs and Services.

Your fresh view will be a key factor to develop our function within the new trends and technologies.

The main tasks of the position are:

  • Manage modifications flow.
  • Support to certification process for authorities.
  • Prepare reports on the configuration at different stages.
  • Define the general criteria and requirements that must fulfill the design product structure, as well as support to its creation.
  • Participate as representative in the Configuration meetings.
  • Check if as design product structure comply with change objectives and procedures.
  • Participate in the definition of requirements to be implemented on PLM related with the Configuration Management tasks. Verification and validation of its implementation.
  • Support the update and definition of configuration procedures included in Design Organization Manual.
  • Checking of the already/not yet certified items to identify the certification needs for an specific version in development

Expected profile of the applicant

  • Educated to Aeronautical or Industrial engineering degree or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Configuration Management at least equal to CM Certification level 1 (CM contributor)
  • Experience in MRTT program in Specific Design Engineering, Airworthiness or Chief Engineering (Modifications and Design Changes)
  • Knowledge of configuration tools/PLM, specially Sprint.NET and EPD-Connect/Optegra
  • Advanced level in English and Spanish
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, able to propose new ideas and improvement driven
  • Innovative and open minded
