In order to ensure this mission Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth is looking for a

System Engineer for aircraft maintenance design (d/f/m)

Maintenance operations on helicopters are key activities for Airbus customers.

In this way, maintenance workload must be optimized in order to maximize helicopter fleet availability and meet customer expectations. To enable this ambition, a position for Responsible for Design for the functions “Diagnostic and Troubleshooting” for Embedded Systems has just opened within Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth .

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As responsible for the diagnostic and troubleshooting function design, you will be in charge for the following activities:

  • Production of technical deliverables for the function related to activities: Specifications, validation, and documentation
  • Project management : Monitoring of planning, deliveries,and validation of the scope of development to be carried out for each activity
  • Budget Management: Drafting annual quotes for carrying out the activity, contractualization of subcontracted activities, and payment upon validation of deliverables
  • Subcontracted activity management: Subcontracted activity package definition, activity follow up, and deliverable validation


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in the field of system engineering or a related discipline
  • Many years experience of project management for development on an aeronautical program
  • Experiences of development of functions on avionics systems, testability of embedded systems, safety Analysis (FMEA), helicopter maintenance, and certification process are valued
  • Project management, follow up subcontracted activity, budget management, and Helicopter Function Development (system diagnostics/troubleshooting)
  • Autonomy, excellent work organization, good interpersonal skills, and teamwork
  • English on upper intermediate level is mandatory
  • French and German are beneficial
