Airbus Commercial is looking for a System Designer for Airborne Communications and Radio Frequency Systems (f/m) to join the Communication and Sensing department, based in Toulouse, France.

You will be part of a team developing Airborne Communications systems (VHF and HF radio, satellite communication and audio systems).

The team is composed of 15 people acting as system designers, Workpackage leaders, experts, project leaders.

As part of the Airborne Communications team, you will be involved in answering Programmes’ objectives for both Aircraft developments and Aircraft deliveries, supporting Customer services and supporting Future Airbus Strategy, as a key contributor to move towards further more Automation, Connected and evermore Sustainable Aircraft.

Your challenges:

• Act as a System Designer for the on-going development of major projects (e.g. new digital audio system on SA/LR and A350; CNS antenna interferences on A321 XLR program, systems modifications for A350-F...)
  
• Act as a System Designer for the future Development Communication Systems ( eg. New generation of HF radios, Software Defined Radio; Flat and Multi Function Antenna, new Satcom system...)
  
• Coordinate with various Interfaces : Airbus interfaces (Programs, Test teams, Certification & safety representatives) and External Interfaces (Satellite Providers, Suppliers, Regulatory Bodies...)
  
• Provide support to the Work Package Leaders for Suppliers (european and american ones) and Subcontractors steering
  
• Drive introduction of new methods based on Big Data and Model-based techniques to improve efficiency of in-service support activities.
  

This role will involve some travels abroad (Europe / USA) for business with a frequency of 3 travels per year maximum and as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.

Your boarding pass:

• Beginner or with 1 to 3 years of experience
  
• Radiofrequency and Radios background
  
• Project Management skills
  
• Ideally an aeronautical / systems / avionics engineering degree (or equivalent)
  
• Systems software / hardware specification and development
  
• A willingness to learn and openness to change, new methodologies & technologies
  
• An advanced level of English is required
  
• A working knowledge of French would be appreciated.
