Supply Chain & Quality Manager

The importance of the supply chain and the resulting supplier management continues to increase and Airbus Defence and Space at this is no exception. “Supply Chain Quality Management” plays a decisive role here and it is much more than an aviation law requirement to ensure compliance with quality requirements by our suppliers: In order to be able to offer our customers the highest quality and to provide an excellent on time service, we also have to demand this from our supply chain.

For the area TAOPOZ we are as of now looking for a Supply Chain & Quality Manager (SCQM). In this role you will be responsible for one of the most important interfaces to our global supply chain.

The Supply Chain & Quality Manager role typically includes the following tasks:

  • Act as interface with suppliers for operational activities
  • Assess suppliers during tendering phase and contribute to the selection decision
  • Manage/contribute to supply chain & quality aspects of the contract being responsible for On time, on Quality (and on Cost when applicable) performance
  • Manage supplier quality Approval ensure that suppliers are compliant with certifications required in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor or support new product introduction, ToW, changes, to ensure industrial qualification maturity before serial phase
  • Assess the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and contribute to the Supplier development
  • Identify the supplier industrial risks and propose mitigation actions Work out short term recovery plans
  • Initiate and manage supplier performance improvement projects,
  • Report on supplier operational performance
  • Apply the current associated tools to manage all activities related to supplier management

The main interfaces of the SCQM are:

  • Supplier (multiple functions & possibly critical sub-tiers)
  • Procurement (CM, PSM, SDM, SO, SCQM, SCQS, TC&L...)
  • Programme lines, Engineering, Production, Quality

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Completed studies (engineering / aerospace engineering / electrical engineering / mechanical engineering / business & administration / industrial engineering & management)
  • Background in Procurement, Quality, Production, Engineering or Programmes (2-4 years)
  • Project Management skills
  • Leadership
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • English/Spanish: negotiation level
  • Additional language skills are advantageous
  • Capacity to work both in teams and autonomously
  • Willingness to travel internationally is a prerequisite
