WE’RE LOOKING FOR A SUPERVISOR, AIRCRAFT COMPLETIONS
Location: FORT ERIE, ON
Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Aircraft Completions plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day operations of the Aircraft Assembly employees and is responsible for the department’s quality performance while ensuring that the delivery schedules are met. The Supervisor, Aircraft Completions will provide technical support, be able to troubleshoot and will implement process improvements that fall within the department function.
Supervision of Daily Operations:
- Monitoring the day to day work of the department and employees, ensuring that the work meets company and regulated standards (observe hours of work and time spent on projects, controlling overtime and approving daily time sheets)
- Planning, directing, delegating, controlling and monitoring the work of a small crew of technicians through effective supervision and accurate communication
- Delegating work based on employee’s qualifications and abilities
- Developing employee qualifications and abilities through cross-training
- Setting annual training and development plans and budgets
- Responding to employee’s complaints and concerns
- Disciplining performance or behavioural problems
- Cooperating with HR on personnel development, performance feedback or issues
- Providing regular feedback to employees about performance and concerns raised that have not been resolved
- Serving as a coordinating resource for management and employees
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and work flow within the department
- Support delivery process in liaison with Customer Support and Sales and Marketing
Quality Inspection (ACA)
- Support quality department when required with intermediate inspections.
- Create form 1 documents when required.
Product Support & Marketing:
- Support with technical questions and issues regarding the product.
- Supporting after sales initiatives by loaning qualified personnel as required
Position Requirements:
Education:
- University Degree or College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance
- Valid Transport Canada AME License - E/M1/M2
Experience:
- 10 years’ experience working on Aircraft installing and troubleshooting components
- 5 years’ experience working on Airbus product
- 5 Years’ Supervisory experience
- Applicable Airbus endorsements (Transport approved type courses)
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
- Able to read and interpret technical drawing, instructions and manuals
- Familiarity with materials and processes used in various configurations
- Able to follow instructions and standards for product quality and reports non-conformances and quality concerns
- Ability to work under broad supervision and take independent action and judgement in day-to-day circumstances
- Problem Solve and Ability to identify problems during assembly process
- Troubleshooting skills
- Consistently flow company/industry safety principles and guidelines; offer solutions; report concerns and proactively engage in product and personal safety
- Technical skills
- Attention to detail.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
- Bilingualism (French-English) an asset
Technical Systems Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Gsuite
