Job Description:
As a Aircraft structures In-Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and technical support to queries related to Aircraft structures coming in from flights in operation as well as interfacing engineering teams, on various aircraft programs.
The various activities to be performed are:
Answer to customer queries related to Aircraft structures in quality and time by using all the available tools and documents to provide a good level of information to customers.
Act as a dispatcher for customer queries within the team as well as other customer support engineering divisions within Airbus.
Analyze in-service queries to identify potential impact (airworthiness, reliability, cost, etc.), launching the necessary actions to identify the root causes and following up on the corrective actions or product development by the design offices or suppliers.
Ensuring transfer of in-service experience and maintenance activities to the management, to other divisions of Customer Services and Airbus design organization including vendors.
Liaise with Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, Design and appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum solutions for the airline customer and to define maintenance programs.
Work on reviewing various safety related incidents from the fleet and perform risk assessments by working closely with the chief engineer’s office.
Perform review of concessions of in-service aircraft and provide approval to meet extended service goal of the A/C.
Required Education:
B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E., with minimum 6 years experience in the aerospace industry.
Mechanical Engineering background is preferred.
Required skills and expertise:-
Good communicator so as to represent Airbus India as part of the project.
Good understanding of Aircraft structures and related design principles .
Strong fundamentals in structural design concepts related to static, dynamic cyclic loads, fatigue and damage tolerance.
Knowledge of various Aircraft Structural maintenance and repair manuals.
Airlines operations knowledge.
Good decision making ability
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Service minded and highly customer focused.
Flexibility and adaptability
Ability to work well in a team environment
