As an Aircraft Structures Repair Design Engineer at TUI, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our aircraft fleet. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you’ll play a vital role in providing structural repair support for various aircraft models across our base maintenance hangar facilities in Brussels. Your responsibilities will include preparing and proposing fully engineered structural repair schemes, advising base maintenance staff, attending OEM seminars for continuous improvement, and much more.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Evaluate, prepare, and propose fully engineered aircraft structural repair schemes that exceed SRM allowable damages and SRM repair instructions.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to base maintenance staff in implementing structural repairs.
  • Attend hangar meetings to support Hangar Managers and licensed engineers.
  • Stay updated on OEM structural seminars and incorporate necessary improvements into local repair processes.
  • Identify and report future work requirements for temporary repairs, ensuring efficient planned maintenance input.
  • Collaborate with other engineering departments and airlines during heavy maintenance checks, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
  • Being part of the team’s weekly on-call rota to cover AOG situations at weekends and evenings to support base maintenance activities.
  • Audit structural repair certification and compile necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Airline Maintenance environment with expertise in aircraft structural repairs.
  • Aircraft maintenance engineer’s license or degree/HND in Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in developing aircraft repairs using the Structural Repair Manual.
  • Familiarity with Office suite, AMOS, Adobe, and drawing software packages (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Strong understanding of NAA regulatory requirements.
