A vacancy for a “ Stress Methods - FEM and Structural Analyst ” (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in the Aerospace Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will join “TADAX3 - Stress Methods and Optimisation”.
About the Team
We are a transversal team at Airpower Engineering working with different core engineering disciplines at Airbus Defence and Space. Our team is multi-national and located at Getafe and Manching. We foster a strong collaboration between both sites.
We are looking for people to strengthen our structural analysis team!
Tasks
We are part of the Airframe CoC and we support the Stress and Fatigue teams in the area of structure analysis. We develop and maintain Finite Element Models and the structure analysis methods and software tools. We participate to all Aircraft development phases as well as to the development and maturation of novel structural technologies (R&T) with application to the Airframe Centre of Competence.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be airframe development, including structure analysis and support to the Stress and Fatigue assessment and structure sizing. This position should cover needs and dedication in both analytical methods and simulation methods (FEM), including methodology development associated to them. This comprises following non-exclusive tasks:
- Linear and nonlinear structure analysis with the Finite Element Method (FEM)
- Structure Stability analysis and assessment
- Structure integrity assessment
- Development and maintenance of methods in the field of Stress, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance
- Multidisciplinary structure analysis and optimisation
- Development, maintenance and testing of Software for structural analysis.
Qualification
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Completed studies in Structural engineering / Structural Mechanics
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting structure analysis with the finite element method in Nastran
- Experience in the structure assessment (Stability, Stress, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance)
- Programming skills to be considered: FORTRAN2003+, Python, C/C#/C++, Visual Basic
- Advanced Level in Spanish and English
- Proactive and positive teamwork attitude
- Experience in FEM analysis with Abaqus and Hyperworks tools is a plus
