Airbus’s Broughton site have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Lifting Specialist to act as the company’s subject matter expert on LOLER regulatory requirements and all aspects lifting operations and equipment.

The role will be the focal point onsite offering support on anything from routing production lifts, to adhoc abnormality lifts. You’ll form a key part of our dynamic Manufacturing Engineering function, supporting in the development of our existing LOLER coaches and taking heavy involvement in the sites LOLER committee as the technical authority.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Be the focal point for expert and technical advice regarding the LOLER Regulations and British Standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes.
  • Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the management of all lifting operations and integrate procedures and process into a wider EHS Management System.
  • Ensure teams and all contractors are appropriately organized and selected ensuring that all personnel are demonstrably competent to undertake their roles.
  • Take the lead in supply chain engagement, including the evaluation and selection of contractors and suppliers ensuring appropriate competencies and arrangements are in place.
  • Participate and provide expertise advice during design stage discussions.
  • Ensure arrangements are in place for the maintenance, inspection, thorough examination and testing of lifting equipment and accessories.
  • Auditing and monitoring of planning and completion of lifting operation, coupled with undertaking detailed root cause investigations of any near misses / incidents.


ABOUT YOU

  • Proven years of practical experience in an appointed persons role within related industry such as construction / manufacturing / high hazard sites
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations A61 (CPCS Blue Card).
  • CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Construction / General Certificate.
  • Extensive knowledge of LOLER Regulations and all aspects of lifting operations.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing basic, standard, and complex lifting operations.
  • Experience gained in a similar subject matter expert / advisory role within the lifting industry.
