Join our dynamic and visionary team as a Prototype Designer dedicated to shaping the future passenger experience within aircraft cabins. This is a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of design, explore emerging technologies, and create innovative solutions that will redefine how people travel. You will be instrumental in envisioning and developing cabin concepts that are not only aesthetically compelling but also enhance functionality, comfort, sustainability, and overall well-being for future generations of travellers.

Responsibilities:
Visionary Concept Development: Researching emerging trends in technology, materials, human factors, and travel to generate ground-breaking and forward-thinking aircraft cabin concepts

User-Centered Design: Conducting user research, creating personas, and developing user journeys to deeply understand passenger needs and translate them into innovative design solutions.

Integration of Technology: Envisioning and designing the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies

Form Development & Aesthetics: Creating visually stunning and brand-aligned designs through sketching, 3D modelling, and rendering. Run internal customer feedback sessions and integrate feedback in project decision making & product design

Prototyping & Testing: Collaborating with internal teams to develop and test prototypes, iterating on designs based on feedback and feasibility studies.

Communication: Effectively communicating design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and management.

Collaboration: Effectively working with project managers of other projects to integrate the related project into the “Future Cabin Studio” within the Airbus China R&D and Innovation Centre context

Trend Analysis & Forecasting: Staying abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to inform design decisions.

Intellectual Property: Contributing to the development of intellectual property through innovative design solutions.

Project Management: Manage external suppliers. Ensure project alignment with internal project stakeholders. Set-up and lead the multi-functional project team with all relevant parties involved. Continuously secure Project Buy-in Apply Project Management Methods

Qualifications:
Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
A strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions, concept development, and a clear understanding of form, function, and user experience.
Proficiency in industry-standard 2D and 3D design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Alias, SolidWorks, CATIA).
Excellent sketching, rendering, and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and ergonomics.
Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and strategically, with a passion for future-oriented design.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international team environment.
A proactive and self-driven approach with a strong desire to learn and explore new technologies and design methodologies.
A highly motivated, creative, and open-minded spirit with a "can-do" attitude.
Knowledge of aerospace regulations and cabin safety standards is beneficial.
Flexibility to travel regional and exceptionally international to collaborate and gain inspiration
Fluent English and Chinese for seamless communication.

Bonus Points:
Experience working on aircraft interiors or other transportation-related projects.
Familiarity with sustainable design principles and lifecycle assessment.
Experience with user research methodologies and human factors principles.
Patent filings or contributions to innovative design solutions.
