Job Description

Job Description:

The jobholder is responsible for:

  • Quality Assurance activities of SW developed by Air Power Engineering for onboard, simulators and test benches SW.
  • Process Assurance of Engineering development (SW/HW and complex HW) in the different programs under her scope of responsibility

His/her main responsibilities are:

  • Develop and continually improve quality awareness and support engineering teams to ensure a proactive and preventive Quality approach reducing non quality
  • Support the flow down of Q Standards within the Engineering perimeter
  • Deployment of Q Strategy within the Engineering perimeter
  • Undertake appropriate SW Assurance activities alongside the complete Development Life Cycle
  • Deploy and lead Continuous improvement process in Engineering (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPS, 5Whys)
  • Ensure measuring and improving Q Performance in the Engineering perimeter, including identification and driving local improvements
  • Be the link between Engineering and other Quality organizations, including driving the Engineering related topics from Customer feedback loops
  • Support Engineering with Customer interface on Quality matters
  • Support cascading Engineering quality standards to suppliers
  • Be the link between Engineering and National Quality Assurance Representatives for Engineering purposes
  • Support evolution of the applicable BMS processes in the DV domain
  • Support lessons learnt knowledge sharing as far as possible inside Engineering and Quality organizations

Pre-requisites

  • Candidates must not be under 21 years of age
  • The candidates must be able to read, write and communicate at an understandable level in the languages in which the technical documentation and the organizational procedures necessary to support the activities are written (B2 minimum)
  • Experience in Design organization will be appreciated, preferable in Airbus SAU. Minimum required experience of at least 1 year.
  • Education required: Engineer, Technical Engineer, Grade in Engineering, Graduate or Diplomate in Technological families which include specific background in Informatic and systems

The main activities are:

SW Quality Assurance (airborne, test benches, simulators)

  • Plan Quality assurance activities based on Development Plans and applicable Quality standards
  • Execute Quality Assurance of SW developed by AP Engineering for on ground, onboard, simulators and test benches SW: SW Reviews; FCA/PCA, Conformity Review; Release of Certificate of conformity and EASA/PERAM F1
  • Process Assurance of SW development in the different programs under his/her scope of responsibility.

Test Bench and Simulator Quality Assurance

  • Review Quality and Development Plans
  • Monitor configuration and development process (design reviews..)
  • Certificate of Conformance

Process Assurance of Engineering development (SW/HW and complex HW) in the different programs under his/her scope of responsibility:

  • Monitor development process
  • Certificate of Conformance (Equipment/Task/SW)

Interface with key stakeholders:

  • With Engineering organization,
  • With other Functions (Production, Services, Programs) and other Quality areas
  • With external Quality stakeholders, including Government National Quality Representatives, external auditors or industrial partners.

Deploy and execute Quality methods and tools in above mentioned programs to ensure right first time and anticipate risks in the design:

  • Identify and execute FMEA to ensure right first time in the design
  • Contribute to identify risks along development activities and manage accordingly to program risk management process
  • Contribute to APQP risk assessment and planning and responsible to perform KBD assessment of Engineering deliverables
  • Lead/facilitate RCA/PPS to investigate process deviations or non-conformities found in the design.

Non Quality Anomalies

Support root cause analysis of Non Conformities (SPR)

Continuous follow-up of NC

RCA/PPS when KPIs RED

Contribute to Non-Conformity reduction by means of improvement initiatives/projects oriented to reduce NCs

Quality Management System

  • Support to external audits (EN9100..)
  • Support to procedures update
  • Contribute to Q KPI house and Engineering KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with regulations within Engineering
  • Develop and maintain a quality mindset (right first time, prevention, anticipation..)

Support

  • Ensure engineering adherence to the defined processes, foster continuous improvement and monitor engineering performance.
  • Identify risks in the design and communicate to Ho TOQEA1

Continuous improvement of the Quality of the Engineering Deliverables:

  • Lead or participate in improvement projects
  • Identify / analyze weak points
  • Identify and agree (preventive/corrective) actions for process improvement
  • Apply lessons learnt to prevent repetition of problems
