Project Manager (Maintenance)

Job Description:

1. Purpose

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the maintenance contract. This role ensures the effective execution of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and hardware repair services, ensuring that all operations strictly adhere to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in customer contracts. The position is accountable for operational excellence, team leadership, and the effective management of both engineering team, suppliers and subcontractors, while ensuring full compliance with safety requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Contract Delivery & Management: Maintain full oversight of the maintenance contract, ensuring all service deliverables-including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and hardware repair-are executed in strict compliance with SLAs and technical requirements.
  
• Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor their performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and strict adherence to contractual terms and service standards.
  
• Team Leadership: Lead the project team, fostering a high-performance environment, managing resource allocation, and ensuring professional development.
  
• Operational Excellence: Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure seamless service stability. Proactively manage resources to prevent disruptions and support the operational team in delivering high-quality results.
  
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance operations are conducted in full compliance with established safety requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
  
• Customer & Performance Reporting: Prioritize regular, high-quality reporting to the customer to ensure transparency, trust, and alignment with contract expectations. Maintain accurate internal records and metrics for KPIs and volume parameters.
  
• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks or service gaps early. Coordinate with relevant process owners to implement corrective actions.
  

3. Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  
• Experience:
  
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in maintenance or service project management, specifically within the telecommunications industry.
    
  • Proven working experience with Hong Kong government or MTR contracts is highly preferred.
    
  • Experience in leading teams and managing external suppliers and subcontractors.
    
• Core Competencies:
  
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with a proven ability to manage internal teams and vendor/subcontractor.
    
  • Ability to navigate and negotiate in complex stakeholder environments.
    
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., SLA/OLA management).
    
  • Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction safety requirements and regulations in Hong Kong.
    
• Certifications: Desirable: relevant Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
