Your tasks and responsibilities

Performance Synthesis & Executive Decision Support

  • The "Single Source of Truth": Consolidate, analyze, and maintain the holistic performance baseline for the commodity, covering savings pipeline, cost-reduction initiatives, and budget adherence.
  • Executive Storytelling: Translate raw procurement data, supply chain metrics, and financial KPIs into clear presentations, briefings and actionable recommendations for the Commodity Leadership Team.
  • Operating Plan Coordination: Manage the internal operating rhythm of the commodity, coordinating updates to the annual procurement operating plan and tracking internal cost-management targets.

Risk & Resilience Intelligence

  • Integrated Risk Register: Continuously monitor and update the commodity's proactive risk ledger, integrating inputs on supplier financial solvency, single-source dependencies, and ITAR/export control friction, etc.
  • Market & Geopolitical Horizon Scanning: Monitor global macro-economic trends, raw material indices, and geopolitical shifts, translating these developments into concrete impact assessments and mitigation strategies for the leadership team.

Sourcing & Contractual Governance

  • Milestone & Resource Tracking: Monitor adherence to the master sourcing plan (RFPs, contract awards, transitions). Identify resource bottlenecks or timeline slippages early, proposing resource-reallocation scenarios to leadership.
  • Claims Management Support: Analyze supplier non-conformances and delays and support the compilation of the business cases for industrial claims.
  • Contract Management Support and Procurement Compliance: Act as a focal point to the central Contracts and Compliance team, ensuring contract best practices, latest templates and mandatory flow-down clauses (compliance, sustainability, etc.) are consistently applied.
  • Benchmarking: Conduct systematic benchmarking of contract terms, pricing models, and supplier maturity levels against broader industry standards.

Cross-Commodity Alignment & Representation

  • Commodity Ambassador: Represent the commodity in cross-functional and cross-commodity forums to ensure alignment on corporate procurement initiatives, shared supplier strategies, and resource allocation.
  • Best Practice Codification: Active participant in the internal procurement community of practice; capture lessons learned and drive the standardization of tools, dashboards, and governance processes.

Desired skills and qualifications

This person must possess the quantitative skills to stress-test financial data, the industry context to understand a military eco-system, and the emotional intelligence to influence senior leaders across different commodities without having hierarchical authority.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in procurement, management consulting, program management, or business operations-ideally within aerospace, defense, or a similarly complex, highly regulated engineering sector.
  • Analytical Mastery: Advanced capability in data synthesis, financial modeling, and translating complex operational metrics into executive-ready presentations.
  • Influence & Collaboration: Proven track record of driving alignment and influencing decision-making in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
