The successful applicant will join Materials & Process Department (TADAP3, M&P Development) as part of Airframe organization.

We are looking for an Engineer or Sciences Degree with experience and general background in Materials and Processes (Composites, Metals, Surface Treatments, Paints, Sealants and Elastomeric Technologies) with respect to development and design of solutions, materials qualifications, processes control, testing and failure analysis. Experience with functional materials is highly appreciated.

The position requires a good balance between a high technical expertise in M&P projects, materials and associated processes in general and some managerial skills.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Materials and Processes Development: Lead the research, development, and optimization of composite materials, metals, surface treatments, paints, sealants, and elastomeric technologies.
  • Specifications and Qualifications: Develop and manage technical specifications and qualifications for materials and processes for military aircraft and related products.
  • Technical Support: Advise the design, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, services and quality departments on material-related queries, concessions, etc.
  • Representation and Leadership: Represent TADAP3 in project meetings, MFT's, and task groups. Lead the development of process specifications and technical notes under the control of ADS SAU.
  • Test Plans Definition: Define test plans for R&T, design, and development of new technologies and materials. Follow up of test plans and test report
  • Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analysis for the assigned scope.
  • Support to Services and Industrial Environment: Provide technical support to services, CML, and knowledge about industrial environment.


Requirements and Skills

  • Academic: Degree in Engineering or Science is mandatory. A Master's degree in Engineering or Science is highly valued.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials and processes, with a comprehensive understanding of appropriate test methods.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience in qualifications and development of new material, processes and suppliers.
    • Experience in t esting of materials including also mechanical testing, as well as comprehension of adequate test methods.
    • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, services and CML.
    • Deep knowledge of REACH.
    • Experience in impact analysis and problem-solving.
    • Knowledge of scientific and technological laboratories (materials analysis, physical observation of samples).
    • Knowledge of material requirements for Airbus standards and quality standards.
    • Experience in material technology development.
    • Experience / knowledge about status quo in the industry in relation to Materials and Processes.
    • Knowledge of materials for low observability applications, as well as thermal or electrical functionalities. Experience with functional materials.


Soft Skills:

  • Flexibility, interpersonal skills, ability to find solutions, and capacity to handle pressure.
  • Advanced level of English and Spanish. Other languages are also appreciated.
  • Availability for relatively frequent travel.
  • Experience in international environment.
