In order to support Airplane Doors, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a

Masters Thesis within the field of AI powered CAE in the aerospace industry (d/f/m)

You are looking for a master thesis? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the Airplane Doors Engineering Team as a Masters student (d/f/m)

  • Location: Donauwörth
  • Start: As soon as possible
  • Duration: 6 Months


Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive overview and understanding about the developmentprocess of airplane door structures and especially the FE sizing
  • Develop a detailed analysis of efforts of single development steps
  • Develop detailed understanding of the commercially available Altair AI solution modules and their contribution in a door development process
  • Detect and examine suitable work steps for the application of AI
  • Set up a AI-supported CAE approach with the showcase “static FE analysis of a door structure”


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student in the field of aerospace engineering, general mechanical engineering or a comparable field of study
  • Knowledge in stress engineering and CAE desirable
  • Altair Hyperworks tool awareness and knowledge of Nastran desirablel
  • Fluent in German and good English skills
