For our "Airplane Doors Engineering" department, we are looking for you to help shape our current and future projects.

Become our new " Stress Engineer - Airplane Doors" (d/m/f) for Airbus Helicopters Germany in Donauwörth!

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsiblities:

  • Analyzing metallic and composite designs for static & fatigue strength according to well-known and new methods
  • Next to strength analyses, focusing on the functional analysis and load determination of the door mechanism using standard methods as well as multibody dynamic simulations
  • Supporting feasibility/trade studies and assessments together with design and manufacturing in order to enable product improvement
  • Verifying forecasted stress values vs.tests
  • Developing technical solutions for new manufacturing technologies
  • Exploring and applying new materials and new technologies
  • Generating and implementing new ideas into the serial business


Required skills and qualification:

  • Degree as engineer (Bachelor, Master or Diploma), e.g. in Aerospace or a related discipline
  • First experience within engineering
  • Ideally you are confident not only with static strength analysis, but as well with fatigue and damage tolerance processes/methods and certification regulations for both metallic and composite products
  • Your experience should include the definition and stress justification of structural components and assemblies which are optimized in terms of manufacturability, cost and weight
  • You hold skills with ISAMI, Hyperworks, Nastran, NASGRO, Python, CATIA V5 and Multibody Dynamic simulations
  • Open minded, curious, team oriented, good communication skills
  • German and English: advanced level, French is a Plus
