In order to support the A/C Systems Team, Airbus is looking for an:

IT System Architect (d/f/m)

We are a core function where sustainable IT transforms our company through programs like DDMS and Skywise. As part of a dynamic, multifunctional team, you will lead architecture activities for Method and Tool projects, guiding the global design vision for IT applications linked to the end-to-end lifecycle of aircraft systems.

Your Location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Architecture Design: Lead the creation of high-quality architectural documents, including High-Level Design Dossiers (HLDDs) and Architecture Dossiers (ARDs).
  • Business Translation: Analyze and translate complex business needs into technical requirements matching the architectural blueprint.
  • Strategic Integration: Secure the integration of solutions across platforms (ERP, ALM, PLM) to ensure consistency across the Airbus ecosystem.
  • Portfolio Management: Keep the product portfolio up-to-date by solving obsolescence and introducing new capabilities like Cloud and Data Analytics.
  • Visionary Leadership: Define the global Enterprise Architecture vision and principles to guide solution designs for the aircraft systems lifecycle.
  • Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Engineering and IM technology, working closely with Release Train Engineers and Solution Architects.
  • Innovation & Standards: Define models and patterns to foster reuse and align architecture with long-term IM strategic planning.
  • Budget Accountability: Plan and manage the budget (AOP) needed to support Systems Engineering Disciplines activities.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with profound practical experience in IS/IT Architecture.
  • Technical Modeling: Proven experience with modeling frameworks and languages like TOGAF and Archimate, specifically using Sparx Enterprise Architect.
  • IT Environment: Strong background in operational IT environments, including knowledge of DevOps, AWS, Cloud, and Security/Export Control.
  • Functional Knowledge: Experience in embedded computers design functional areas and complex application development techniques.
  • Soft Skills: Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage priorities in complex environments and drive innovation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment.
  • Languages: Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
