Internship / Final Year Project - Oxygen Fed Fire Risk Management and mitigation on Aircraft
Your mission: analyse the fire risk associated with systems using oxygen on board ATR aircraft, assess how this risk is controlled, and propose areas for improvement to further enhance the safety of the in-service fleet.
You will join ATR Engineering's Continued Airworthiness office, which is responsible for ensuring that every ATR aircraft, throughout its operational life, continues to comply with applicable regulatory requirements and remains in a condition that ensures flight safety.
Your main activities will include°:
You will analyse in-service incidents and the risks associated with oxygen leaks using ATR data, in collaboration with CAMO, in-service fleet support teams and system experts. This analysis will be complemented by a review of accidents, incidents and publicly available data in order to identify relevant risk scenarios and lessons learned.
Based on all the data collected, you will assess the level of risk and identify technical, operational, maintenance and human contributing factors. You will then propose improvements to risk control, which may involve aircraft systems, operations and procedures, maintenance, training or awareness. You will summarise your work in a presentation and a technical note for an ATR panel, supporting the definition of potential mitigation action plans.
