Your mission:

An internship opportunity titled : « Numerical Method for Material Qualification -To explore the simulation capabilities in studying material burning behaviour » has just opened at Airbus India Pvt Ltd located in Bangalore. You will join the Structures department.

Ideally, this is a 6 month internship and it should start in Jan 2026 (date subject to flexibility).

Your main missions will consist of :

  • To understand the internal Airbus specification that covers the Material burning requirements and corresponding test methods.
  • To explore the development of numerical models for fire risk assessment of Polycarbonate material qualification in Heat Release Rate test as per HRR AITM2-0006 (OSU apparatus).
  • The scope narrows down and covers literature survey, conceptualization, methodology development and validation of the numerical model to deliver a Multidiscipline modelling framework.

Technical skills :

- Strong fundamentals on Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Chemical kinetics and fire retardant material properties.

- Preferable knowledge of numerical modeling, 1D analysis and CFD (computational fluid dynamic) methods and tools.

- Preferable knowledge of atomistic / multiscale material simulation

- Basic knowledge of programming C, Python etc.

Expected academic background: Masters in Chemistry / Chemical engineering with atomistic /multiscale simulation experience.
