Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Modeling and Simulation: Apply and refine complex structural models using commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, primarily Abaqus.
- Methodology Development: Utilize principles of advanced mathematics and statistics to develop and test new computational frameworks for analyzing structural behavior under various conditions.
- FEA Integration and Scripting: Leverage coding/scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to automate pre-processing, manage large simulation datasets, streamline post-processing, and ensure robust integration of analytical tools.
- Data Validation: Conduct analyses to compare simulation outcomes against reference data or physical test results to validate the developed computational methods.
- Documentation: Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting analysis procedures, findings, and model summaries.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Mechanics of Materials and structural analysis theory.
- Demonstrated proficiency with a commercial FEA software package, preferably Abaqus.
- Solid understanding of advanced mathematics and statistics.
- Essential coding or scripting experience (e.g., Python).
- Ability to tackle complex, cutting-edge problems and work collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
