We are looking for a Health & Safety Specialist to join our Airbus GBS in Coimbra!

Responsibilities - your mission

  • The Health and Safety Specialist will have specific formal qualifications relating directly to their specialization and will be recognized for their expertise both internally and externally.
  • Stakeholder management is a key accountability and as such, they will provide guidance to the business on the categorization, elimination, substitution or mitigation of risk ensuring full compliance with external requirements (legal, management system standards etc) and the internal EHS policy and management system.
  • The Health & Safety specialist will be responsible for defining and implementing internal Health & Safety plans in our national offices, working closely with our internal stakeholders and external providers. It includes managing and facilitating compliance with all relevant legislation and applicable consensus standards.
  • The Health & Safety specialist ensures compliance with Airbus health, safety and security procedures and policies, as well as with national legal requirements. This includes conducting frequent audits and ensuring all personnel are trained.
  • The Health & Safety specialist will focus on creating the necessary plans, projects and initiatives, and in implementing them; with a specific focus on behavior, workplace conditions and effective procedures. The aim is to achieve a positive H&S culture with accountability across the organization.


Requirements - our ideal candidate will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Health & safety technician certificate (Safety certification)
  • Up to 3 years experience in ensuring legal and health guidelines (office environment)
  • Experience in producing risk assessment reports and developing relevant policies and plans
  • Comprehensive understanding about EHS related laws & regulations in Portugal are required;
  • People skills essential, with particular emphasis on effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
